Safe Driver!!!

My boyfriend's father received the Safe Driver of the year award at work, so I made him this tractor trailer cake. I elevated the cake with plastic dowels which are covered by the tires. This was my first truck cake, it took quite a while but I happy with the end result.

Nazareth Academy Career Day

This fall, I attended Career Day and my grade school, Nazareth Academy. It was a great time, I demonstrated how to decorate cupcakes, and explained my career in the pastry world to the students. The faculty and students really seemed to enjoy it as much as I did, and I'd love to do it again next year!

Betty Boop

This is a Betty Boop cake I made for my neighbors birthday. I carved her head out of a half sheet cake and piped the buttercream decorations.

Skull Fire!!!

My brother and cousin are in a band named Skullfire. Both of their birthdays were this week, so I thought it was a good idea to make them a Skullfire cake and bring it to their show.

Spiderman Cake

I had this idea to make this cake 2 brick buildings, and have spiderman webbing between the 2. A bit ambitious, I know, and it came back to haunt me. The first time around the taller of the 2 fell on my kitchen floor :( So heres where I went wrong - Although the first cake and buttercream i used were very tasty, they were not practical. The cake and buttercream were to soft to stack that high, so the second time around i had to sacrifice the taste a bit and I used a sturdy pound cake and stiff buttercream to build the cake, and it worked much better. Don't get me wrong, it still tasted good but my 1st cake tasted much better, its just not suitable for building this kind of structure. The brick work is done with a press that i ordered online, I really like it. spiderman was molded out of fondant, he was a pain in the butt also, he didn't want to stay together for me.

Erin and Wally's Engagement Cake

I was asked to make a cake for my cousins engagement. They wanted a 3 tier cake with bright colors. I used a few techniques I learned from the Wilton flower classes, and some from a new gumpaste flower book i recently purchased.
